"Stage One" in the development plan for the new rifle/pistol range has been completed. Currently there are two 10' X 30' concrete pads at the firing lines of the 50 yard range and the 100 yard range. We hope to have bench rests and equipment tables completed within a couple of weeks. The development plan calls for pavillions to be constructed over the concrete pads. These pavillions were initially planned to be phased in next year, but if cash flow and manpower allow, we may see them by this fall. We plan to have the running deer target completed by the "Sportsmen's Weekend" event in September.
Use of the rifle/pistol range is limited to club members and guests accompanied by a member only.

OxTAR 2009 is now history. Attendance was not as great as we hoped, but that was entirely our fault. Our advertising efforts kind of fell through the cracks this year. We promise to do better next year. The website will be updated on a more timely basis.
Saturday started out great but the monsoon in the afternoon kind of put a damper on things. George Catlin from Tollgate was here at his booth again this year and was very helpful in getting peoples bows set up when needed. We look forward to having him here each year.
This year we had a group of flint knappers from the Binghamton area demonstrating their craft. They do some beautiful work and we hope to have them here next year. A big thanks to Gary Lawrence of Greene for making this happen.
The novelty shoots were popular as usual. Everyone seemed to enjoy the aerial target shooting with flu-flu's. Todd Hathaway won the ping-pong shoot drawing and will be receiving a dozen arrows donated by Tollgate Traditions.
We have been getting some excellent feedback on the archery forums on how to make this event better. Better advertising, directions, new novelty shoot ideas, adding a blanket swap, modifying our entry fees to include a family rate....etc. All excellent ideas. Keep them coming. Next year we will have a running deer target set up on our new rifle range. We also plan to improve our camping facilities. We would like to see more campers and be able to have a bonfire and time for socializing. We want this event to get huge. Spread the word and bring your friends and families next year. If you are an archery vendor or crafter and would like to set up at next years event, let us know.
A big thanks goes out to Billy Hoosock, Rick Tweedie, Doug Hoyt, the registration crew, the kitchen crew, the building and grounds crew and everyone else who made this event possible.
